PETUNIA - "Queen of Hearts" (Semi-Trailing)
 
New to us for 2026, the Queen of Hearts is a true visual treat, this stunning bicolour of sunny yellow and rosy pink charms everyone who sees it. As the flowers bloom, a vivid red heart appears against the bright yellow, creating a captivating display. With a semi-trailing habit, it thrives in pots, baskets, and containers, and its strong, free-branching growth adds to its appeal. This unique variety features unusual heart-shaped patterns, giving each bloom five pink inward-facing hearts around its edge.
 
We recommend pinching out the growing tips when they are around 2-3 inches tall to encourage a bushier growth and more blooms
Transform a dull wall into an trailing avalanche of bright blooms, or swathe beds and borders in a floral blanket. Breath-taking as a cascading ornamental, dazzling as a carpet of colour. However used, these plants will produce a spectacular display.
 
Plant Care
Petunias are great in hanging baskets and patio containers and will produce a cascade of colour before long. The key to success is regular feeding (once a week) and regular deadheading of faded flowers.
We recommend pinching out the growing tip of the plug plants at time of potting on. This will produce much bushier growth. Pinch just above a leaf joint, aiming to leave 2-3 pairs of leaves if possible.
Keep the compost fairy moist, but not waterlogged. If you notice a yellowing of the leaves during the early growing stages this is usually due to the plants drying out. 
Keep plants frost free until mid/late May and then harden off before being placed in their final positions when the risk of frost has passed in your area.
