Broad Bean Masterpiece Green – Cultivation Advice
- Plant from early spring as soon as the soil can be worked in an open sunny site preferably on ground which has been manured for a previous crop.
- Can be grown in large pots/containers where space is limited.
- Keep free of weeds.
- Provide support on exposed sites prior to the plants reaching 12 inches
- Harvest the beans when the pods are well fat and the seed still soft.
- Pinch out the growing tips when the plant has reached approx 35-40cm and in flower. This will reduce blackfly infestation and help the plant put its energy into producing beans
