Begonias are notoriously difficult to germinate from seed, so cut out all the hassle and disappointment of failed seeds and buy these, available as plug plants and garden ready plants.
Begonia plugs should be potted on first in grower trays and grown on in bright, frost-free conditions. See our selection of grower trays and pots here. Begonia plants can be transplanted into their final containers once they have increased in size and the roots have started to appear through the drainage holes. When all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days, before placing them in their final positions. Choose a sunny or semi shaded position that is protected from strong winds.
